Good post and a good article. I like ScottyDs take that those riders just bail out the agents for poor investment advice. A well-managed portfolio doesn't need that type of expensive insurance. Portfolio risk management is a legitimate concept, but the cost benefit analysis of those riders just doesn't pass muster.

ps Of course without the huge commissions that biz would dry up quick. Very little direct-to-consumer annuity volume.
